  • Apply one drop to your cheeks, forehead, and sinuses, as needed.
  • Diffuse lavender in a cold air diffuser for 15 minutes every two hours.
  • Put one to two drops on the palm of one hand, rub your hands together, and place them near or over your nose. Inhale for four to six deep breaths as needed.
Eucalyptus radiata may also provide allergy relief. You can diffuse or inhale as instructed above. To apply eucalyptus to your cheeks, forehead, and sinuses, dilute one drop of essential oil with one or two drops of olive oil.

Other Allergy Help

Many sources, including Dr. Oz of Oprah Show fame, recommend a neti pot to help clean your nasal passages of pollens, pollution, dust, dander, etc. A neti pot looks a bit like a small teapot-shaped kettle. You fill it with a warm saline solution (salt and water) and pour the solution into one nostril and let it drain out the other nostril.

Note: Do NOT put essential oils in the neti pot. They can irritate your nasal passages.
