Essential Oils for Meditation

Meditation is a way to calm and focus your mind. Aromatherapy can help in this process. Valerie Ann Worwood, author of The Fragrant Mind: Aromatherapy for Personality, Mind, Mood and Emotion, suggests using essential oils to help clear the atmosphere and set the scene.

Meditation Blend 1
5 drops lavender
15 drops lemon
5 drops juniper
5 drops geranium

Meditation Blend 2
16 drops neroli
2 drops ylang ylang
10 drops bergamot
2 drops frankincense

Add a few drops of either blend to an aromatherapy diffuser and enjoy!

You can also use any single essential oil that sets the mood you want. A few suggestions include:
  • cypress,
  • frankincense,
  • cedarwood,
  • sandalwood, or
  • jasmine.
