Aromatherapy for Hot Flashes

If you want to try aromatherapy for hot flashes, Aromatherapy for Dummies recommends

10 drops lemon oil
5 drops pepperment oil
2 drops clary sage oil
1 ounce aloe vera gel

Mix ingredients well. Dab or spray on your wrists, face, or neck when you feel a hot flash coming on.

Other essential oils that may ease hot flashes are basil or thyme. You can inhale, use in a bath or foot rub, or mix with massage oil. Or place a few drops of an essential oil on a tissue or cotton ball and place in plastic wrap. Inhale this portable hot flash remedy any time a flash strikes.

For a relaxing bath to relieve hot flashes, Pure Scents for Well Being recommends blending the following essential oils with one teaspoon of oil or milk and adding the blend to your bath:

4 drops geranium
2 drops lemon
1 drop peppermint
